Where a rubber seal was originally placed in the crankcase, making the oil supply hoses redundant, a suitable aluminium plate is now being developed to close this opening when the oil pump is obliterated. It's possible to route the hoses through this aluminum plate; the holes are already prepared on the inside. This plate also has an O-ring on the outside to make the crankcase practical. Not all crankcases are identical due to the factory casting, and the rubber edge will compensate for this.
